Broken Echoes Combat

Broken Echoes  is an action-adventure game that will let you control Lea, the main protagonist. Lea has a powerful artifact by her side, the Zahir. In this mode, you will have to survive the waves of enemies that will appear in the ring and fight to the end.

Control the Zahir by using two different combat modes to maximize damage and improve your physical capabilities.

• Timeslinger: Balanced mode for a more defensive playstyle. Make sure no one breaks in to your defence by using the parry ability and the Zahir Trigger to slow down and keep them far away.
• Spaceshifter: Aggressive mode for a offensive playstyle. Use the heavy sword in combination with fast paced abilities to teleport behind enemies and deliver bust of attacks.

FLOW OF COMBAT

As a player, you will have to choose between the Timeslinger or the Spaceshifter mode, depending on your playstyle or the pace you desire to have.

Each time you hit an enemy, the sword will get brighter. This means energy is being collected in the sword. To use the Zahir abilities, first you will need to transfer energy from the sword to the Zahir, using de Zahir Charge action. Now, the Zahir will glow up and stars will start orbitating around the gauntlet. Check this diegetic UI to know how many abilities you can unleash. Your life will be shown in your hair and with post-processing effects.

Now, you have landed your ability. Time will slow down for a short time. This is a feature called Step System. This system will let you unleash the most powerful stage of the Zahir ability by pressing the Zahir Trigger action. This action cost energy stored in the gauntlet.

Using the Step System will output the most damage possible, also affecting enemy postures. When enemies have no posture they will be open to be jugded. When using the judgment on enemies, they will bring you life or energy directly to the gauntlet depending on your action.
